“Rolls Royce” Refrigeration at Amazónico

Originally opened in 2010 by husband and wife team and renowned restauranteurs, Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, Amazónico quickly became one of Madrid’s most-popular and well-loved restaurants.

Amazónico London, is situated in the heart of Mayfair on Berkeley Square and is the couple’s first restaurant to open outside of Spain. It takes its inspiration from the cultural diversity and gastronomic heritage of the Amazon region with an immersive environment of rainforest-inspired lush greenery and natural materials designed by internationally renowned artist Lázaro Rosa-Violan.

Combining a blend of tropical and Latin American cuisines the menus are not only inspired by the countries of the Amazon but the unique Asian and Mediterranean communities which inhabit them. From Peruvian sushi and the freshest raw seafood to carefully sourced grilled meats and fish; chefs use both traditional and cutting-edge techniques along with seasonal and vibrant ingredients to transport you to South America.

Vitelio Reyes, Executive Chef – Amazónico London worked with Hallmark Kitchens (https://www.hallmarkkitchens.co.uk) to supply and install the kitchen for their London site. Reyes comments, “I’ve been working with Hallmark for many years and have an extremely good and honest relationship with them. The brief was for a full open kitchen as Amazónico is all about honest food and honest food needs to be seen”. 

Amazónico opted for a stunning combination of standard Precision products, as well as counters from the award-winning line of Retro refrigeration. Reyes explains, “when you drive an antique car, you want everyone to see you. If you have a Rolls Royce, you need to keep it polished and brand new. For us, Precision is a Rolls Royce and we want people to be in love with the way that we cook and the way the kitchen looks as well.”
